Fundamental Knowledge for a Future Yoga Instructor
In classical Hatha Yoga, a human being is considered a unified energetic system in which the physical body, breathing, psycho-emotional state, and consciousness are inseparable.
That is why a deep understanding of the chakra system is a mandatory element of professional yoga instructor training, rather than superficial esoteric knowledge.
In every yoga practice, our task is to harmoniously work through all energy centers, from Muladhara to Sahasrara, ensuring holistic personal development.

Chakras as the Foundation of Yoga Instructor Training
A deep understanding of the chakra system:
•shapes a conscious and aware instructor,
•allows for safe and competent structuring of practice,
•provides tools for working with the body and psyche of students.
That is why the study of chakras is a mandatory part of the 200-hour yoga instructor training course at the Yoga Alliance School.
A professional yoga instructor is not a demonstrator of exercises, but a guide of the practice.
Without knowledge of the chakra system, it is impossible to:
•work safely with pranayama,
•competently lead meditation practices,
•understand students’ psycho-emotional responses,
•accompany deep transformational processes.
Therefore, the study of chakras is a core component of yoga instructor education, not an optional topic.
Chakras in the Yoga Instructor Training Program
Within yoga instructor training courses, the chakra system is studied in a comprehensive and practice-oriented manner.
The training includes:
•the theory of human energetic anatomy,
•the connection between chakras, the body, breathing, and the psyche,
•practical application through asanas and pranayama,
•teaching methodology that takes energetic centers into account,
•the development of the instructor’s personal experiential understanding.
This approach enables graduates to:
•confidently lead group and individual classes,
•deeply understand students’ internal processes,
•teach yoga as a holistic and integrated system.
